How do off-grid solar systems
work?
The solar panels convert the sun light directly into DC. The DC is
stored in a battery through a voltage regulator. The stored energy can be used
at any time. If 230 V or 400 V AC is used for the operation of the electrical
appliance an inverter can be connected to the battery. In case of using a pump
station the energy is stored as water in a cistern instead of a battery. Thus,
the costs of the battery can be economised.
Application
areas:
-
weekend homes
-
pump stations
-
telecommunication systems
-
electrification of remote villages
-
leisure activities: caravan, camping
vehicles, sailing- and motorboats
