amorphe module sind solche, bei denen dünne Schichten photoaktiver Halbleiter auf ein Trägermaterial, meist Glas, aufgetragen werden. Das kann durch Aufdampfen, Kathodenzerstäubung, das sogenannte Sputter-Verfahren, oder elektrolytische Bäder erfolgen. Als Halbleitermaterial für amorphe module wird zum Beispiel Kupfer-Indium-Diselenid oder auch Cadmium-Tellurid verwendet.
